DD 2 is actually not too bad in terms of storyline because TJSS (the author) expanded and improved on his soul ring concept. But in terms of the most compelling MCs, Huo Yuhao is definitely the last. He just doesn’t have that kind of protagonist aura like Tang San and other MCs. He’s my least favourite and i once saw a poll from the Chinese fans site, they also rated him last among the 4 most favourite DD MCs.

What I don’t like about DD2 is how the author stepped on his most famous MC: TS, in order to lift up Huo Yuhao. A good author would never lessen one character to make another one great.

I don’t think I’ll be watching. Just like what you said, I don’t enjoy watching the MC getting bashed up and turning into a helpless and distressed dude. Yuhao is a bit like that. The reason why I love Chinese wuxia stories is because I can immerse myself in a fantasy world where the protagonists are OP and smart. If I want realism, I’d rather watch a CSI-type drama or movie. So no I don’t like weak protagonists, definitely not in a Chinese donghua.

Btw, thanks for the list of donghuas that you gave me last week. That’s enough to keep me entertained for a while. 😉

Totally relatable, that is one of the reason I cannot finish DD2, I started it read a few chapters then stop, there is only so many MC starts off as weak/bullied continuously throughout the novel I can take
Also one of the reason I couldnt really get into Da Zhu Zai, which is a sequel of Doupo Cangqiong, I know the MC isnt Xiao Yan but why make the MC of the DZZ surpass him when he is the favourite? Especially when Xiao Yan is the one of the most powerful beings in the novel yet, a few years is all it takes for the MC to surpass Xiao Yan

I agree, as cliched and overused general plots or storylines are in the world of CN, the OP MC's they've given birth to are one of the biggest reasons they stay strong and are renowned despite how trashy the story may be😌

Yeah to me, it seems Like Boruto. The way they had to embarrassingly and blatantly bash the main characters just give rise to Boruto infuriates me. That's why I'll never watch it. And that's why I'll never watch DD2 too. It's just isn't necessary. I want the anime to end with Tang San and I'll keep it that way.

Ya i agree with you bro, I also don't like it when a mc is downgraded to increase the weight of new mc. For example naruto is pretty good but to increase the character of boruto they downgraded naruto and now I can't make myself watch boruto at all. Hopefully dd2 won't be as worst as boruto imo

Dayum cant wait. I read Soul Land 2 and it was really good. Yuhao is really OP too. He even achieves what Tang San did in the end.

While there is no released date, I can only guess it might be after Soul Land is finished, since on the Tencent streaming site, Soul Land goes up to 250 episodes, so we are looking at a little more than a year of Soul Land to finish then Soul Land 2 will start or we will have both running concurrently, but that seems highly doubtful as the author said Soul Land 2 just started development
But that is my guess, I could be wrong, if there are more information, I will keep everyone posted (no pun intended)

While I cannot answer for the studio, I can only guess with what I read on forums and infer what information is shown on their official streaming site

1. Soul Land has about at least a year to at most two years to go before ending, however, the next arc can be easily shortened as many contents can be removed. On Tencent streaming site, the number of episodes allocated is 250, we are at 191 at the moment, it can mean anything, my guess is that the series will end at the 250th episodes, which is around a year later
2. Soul Land 2 is still undergoing development, characters, monsters and environmental designs do take up a lot of time, the sooner they are completed the smoother and faster they can start producing/rendering the donghua, even though it is the same world, but there are a lot of differences from the world of Soul Land and Soul Land 2 (There is no magic, no fighting spirit, no martial arts,
but there is martial spirit) It will also mean less problems will be encountered when the series is actually goes live
3. The studio at the moment has only the Soul Land series going, I guess they want to either prepare for Soul Land 2, or have a concurrent project

Again all these are my guesses and opinions, I might be wrong, but if I find more information I will be sharing them to everyone

Like if he has to protect haishen island he has to stay there but he also have to continue operating his tang sect in tian dou empire and also be the chief of hammer sect and also help mubai as the army commander when he become king for xing lou empire.
